World Environment Day

This week was world environment day and the kids in the school planted a few plants and flowers in the school as well as learning on how to keep the environment clean and also on the various species that make up our world (in tune with the theme of this years World Environment Day). The first World Environment Day was on 1973. World Environment Day is hosted every year by a different city with a different theme and is commemorated with an international exposition in the week of 5 June. This years event was 'Many Species. One Planet. One Future' and the global host was Rwanda- a country of exceptional biodiversity that has made huge strides on environmental protection.
