Health and Safety...Indian style

With the fans in the GVI house needing a thorough scrub, we called in our plucky plumber and all-round handy man Francis to work his magic.

For the last two weeks the temperature in Kochi has gone from really hot to...well...really really really hot. Naturally we decided that slowly rotating fans didn't stand up to much with the impending summer season fast approaching.

Man of the hour Francis arrived and decided the best way to reach the fans would be to place a rather flimsy looking plastic chair on top of the wooden bench in the upstairs communial area (illustrated by the photo).

Being safety concious I asked Francis if he was ok with his death-trap. His reply was a simple head wobble and a smile.

Thankfully Francis lived to fight (or fix toilets) another day.
