The Creation of Imagination
Art isn't taught as a subject in the Auxilium School, but every kid should have the opportunity to share in the fun and imagination that art creates. So we thought it would be a great idea to make Wednesday afternoons after school, ( Art club day)!
So we got creative and made posters for the art club put them up all around the school, Amy a
nd I bought crafty activities with us from home, such as puppet making kits, masks and photo frames. As well as a handful of colouring books for the kids to enjoy. We went to our friends and family as well as employers of our parents to raise some extra money for school supplies. It was so easy to get a few extra pounds together, including a donation of kids toothbrushes from the local dentist. We managed to raise an extra 50 GBP which went so far into being able to give these kids an opportunity to do something different in their lives and give them some memories and l
essons that will last a lifetime.
Loads of the GVI volunteers got involved with art club and the turn out of children was amazing! It was a really fun and rewarding experience to make things with the children, and see their excitment in doing something different. They really enjoyed it and art club was a great success.
Next week were going to paint and decorate pictures of elephants!
