Gratitude Day
At the Auxilium school there is never a dull moment and never a week without some sort of celebration. This week the children dedicated a day to say thank you to their teachers, the institution heads and us volunteers for the hard work and hours that we all put in. The kids really look up to their teachers and even us GVI Volunteers as not only their mentors but also their caregivers and friends. The kids practiced week long to put up a grand show for us all singing and dancing to traditional music and various other Malayalam songs. To make their day special and a way for GVI to say thank you to the kids and teachers for allowing us to work there and the amazing times we have in school, we also put up a surprise dance show from one of the songs from the Lion King. We made masks and practiced (not as much as the kids!) but had a blast preparing for it and performing it!
