My first day...

My first day at the Auxilium School was a day to remember. I have never felt so overwhelmed by questions, gleaming eyes, smiles, handshakes and some of the most welcoming staff and children I have ever met. Standing at the front of the class with 50 pairs of eager eyes waiting to hear your words is one of the most terrifying and most wonderful sensations I have ever experienced. And although you may be overwhelmed by all the new faces you feel instantly that you are at home.

One of the things I appreciate about this program, is the in class time with the children as well as the after and before tuitions (the one-on-one session). This is the time to learning and focus in on what they need. As a result of the classes being so large, the disruptions during the day, and each children’s unique learning styles, it is good to give your full attention to individuals who may get left behind in class. I also appreciate the one-on-one time with the children because that is when I am able to learn their names and get to know their personalities.

I have been at the program for almost 3 weeks now and will be staying till January first, so I am looking forward to really getting to know the school and the students as a whole.
